XTR3M3’s Camping Guide for Spawnpoint Servers
Overview
Acceptable and Unacceptable camping practices on Spawnpoint Servers are designed around map objectives and keeping the flow of the game. There are many instances where camping is an acceptable strategy in achieving objectives. Players shouldn’t be heckled or harassed when camping meets the objective of the map.
General Camping Rules
All Maps general: Glitching is not allowed on any map or mod with the exception of ZM. Glitching refers to getting to a place that the map designer never intended to be accessible with the use of a map “glitch”. Spawn camping is prohibited unless it complies with the map objective. Excessive camping on objective based maps is prohibited unless it complies with the objective.
Admins are encouraged to:
1. Warn
2. Warn
3. Slap (no damage)
4. Kick
5. Temp Ban
CS_general: (Hostie rescue maps) Objective-CT side. CT’s should make attempts to rescue hosties. Killing all the T’s is a viable strategy as well. T’s are allowed to camp near hosties or at rescue points in an attempt to win the round. CT’s should not be forced to “Rush to their death” if they are the last one with multiple T’s. Camping T’s should not be heckled with some server/map exceptions that will be listed below.
DE_general: (Bomb defuse maps) Objective-T side. T’s should make attempt to plant the bomb. Killing all the CT’s is a viable strategy. CT’s should not be heckled for camping near bombsites or camping in general. CT’s should attempt to get to bombsite and attempt to diffuse the bomb. CT’s should not be forced to “Rush to their death” if they are the only CT left with multiple T’s guarding the bomb. Spawn camping CT’s should not be harassed when doing so complies with map objectives.
FY_Only: (Team Based Objective maps) Excessive spawn camping is discouraged.
GG: Gun Game: (Personal Objective maps) No camping without a scoped weapon. Aug and Kreig are “zoom in” weapons, not scoped weapons and are not included.
ZM: Zombie Mod: (Human vs. Zombie maps) No camping of lower vent. (Lila_Panic) Humans and Zombies are prohibited from working together. No catapulting of Zombies. (Requires Human and Zombie cooperation where a zombie stands next to a human to get shot in the head to “catapult” them up or over to an unobtainable spot or refuge) Only 4 humans allowed together at one time in any ‘cade location or refuge spot. Humans are not allowed to break other humans ‘cades. Humans allowing themselves to be “turned” to get the rest of the Humans in a refuge spot will be treated as ‘cade breakers.
Death Match: This is a “wide open” map. Camping anywhere is allowed (free for all map). Only the core Spawnpoint rules are to be enforced.
Map Specific Camping Rules
Assault:
Terrorists: T’s may not camp upper vent. T’s are allowed to check upper vent for CT’s and/or go up there to reload. T’s must then exit the vent immediately. T’s may camp hosties for 4 rounds per map change with a limit of 4 T’s. Some admin discression is allowed in this. Admins can allow a little more if they deem it is not disrupting game play. They can also limit Hostie camping below 4 T’s if they deem it is causing too many game flow disruptions. It is a player’s obligation to listen to admins in these instances. Going in and camping hostie room at the end of a round when you are the last T and outnumbered is an acceptable practice and doesn’t count toward your 4 rounds per map. Illegal glitches include big box under office that allows you to “see through the floor” into office, office gangplank-handrail-wall box outside of office (allows player to see into office and upper vent). Jumping to the crane hook is not considered a glitch at this time.
Counter-Terrorists: CT’s are allowed to camp upper vent as long as they are not running out the clock up there. Excessive overpass camping is discouraged and admins are allowed to use discression in these cases. CT’s that are on overpass should begin the process of attempting to enter at the 1:00 mark unless they are actively engaged with impatient T’s. CT’s that continually camp overpass and don’t attempt help the “team” out can be disciplined. Spawn camping is prohibited. CT’s should not be forced to rush to their deaths if they are the last one. (Unless they are the last one because of excessive camping on a regular basis) The smart thing to do is to “pick off” impatient T’s that come out to “thin out the competition” before making an attempt to enter. Illegal glitches include end of overpass-chain fence-roof, spawn garbage can-sign-awning, back roof to fire escape (requires 2 to work), ledge facing building to tree.
Map Specific camping, other:
There are going to be maps not mentioned in this guide that have forbidden camping areas/scenarios. Our admins will inform you in such cases. You, as a player, are required to listen and follow the directives of our admins in these cases.

Would it be possible to display some warning or information when people join the game on any of the Dust 2 -CSS- servers (except Death Match) about camping? There is not many more annoying things than T-s camping the T spawn with AWP, holding the bomb and killing all your team mates rushing in front of their sniper rifle. They start to move only when you're left alone as a CT and they can flank you easily anywhere. Sometimes they would not move at all during the whole round. It just ruins the real game. No skills required to keep the T team there and snipe around while the other team goes in front fo your guns...
