Combat Arms is Blowing Up

Who doesn’t love free games? I’m a huge advocate for free-to-play software. The troublesome part is sifting through a lot of gaming trash to find a free game worth your time, but rest assured, they are out there, and I’m going to lead you down that favorable freeware path you’ve been struggling to find.

Nexon has been a pioneer in the free-to-play business. Their model, which reflects a lot of current adaptations, focuses on bringing you a game for free and giving you the option to spend money to customize your experience. For example: decking out your avatar in apparel that you couldn’t find in-game for a small fee. These microtransactions may seem like a marketing scheme, but they’re the reason that you get to play these games for free, which I think is a great trade off considering spending money is completely optional.

One of Nexon’s flagship titles, Combat Arms- a popular online multiplayer FPS, is getting a new update that looks to add a new mode in “Hired Guns,” and a new battle zone “Blood Money.”

Hired Guns is a unique team vs. team mode which requires you to hire and control NPC mercenaries to help achieve objectives and defeat the opposing team. I think this mode is quite interesting considering I have played too many games in which you employ AI to do your bidding.

Combat Arms features over 300 weapons with unlimited options for customization. The customization doesn’t end with you weapons either, you can trick out your character with different camo’s, helmets, vests, and tons of accessories.

In conjunction with this new update, Nexon decided to increase the EXP and GP (Gear Points) rewards rates in various game modes, so now is a better time than ever to start playing Combat Arms.
