Gotham City Imposters Trailer
When I first head of Gotham City Imposters I really didn’t know what to expect. Given the success of the Batman trademark including, comic books, movies, and even great games recently, I assumed this was something to get excited about.
Currently, from the looks of it I’m right! Gotham City Imposters looks to take a lot of ideas from Team Fortress 2, which could turn out to be a great thing.
You first choose between two factions, the Batz and the Jokerz. There is a plethora of options as far as customizing you avatar including costumes, homemade gadgets, and a wide range of imaginable weapons.
You can actually take a gander at some of the weapons in the trailer:
At about :40 you can see there will be a nifty little bear trap that you can set down. It also looks like there will be a good deal of verticality to the combat with players consistently falling from above. At about :45 you can see the Airspace Denier which looks to keep your opponents grounded.
Along with those two notables there are others jammed in there at the end including a grappling gun, a freeze gun, and even an explosive jack-in-the-box.
The cartoony theme and customizable avatars reminds me a lot of the Team Fortress artistic model, but I feel its suiting and works well for the Gotham universe. I’m interested to see more of this game as it comes closer to its 2012 release.
