Star Wars: The Old Republic Jedi Consular

With Star Wars: The Old Republic inching nearer, Bioware and Lucas Arts have been showing more and more of the classes in-game and what their roles will entail.

Today we take a look at the Jedi Consular. Now there are a good amount of classes with light sabers, so I’m interested to see how each of the “melee” classes will distinguish themselves with their particular skillsets.

Whereas the Jedi Knight looks more like a tank, getting up in the opponents face and holding agro, the Jedi Consular looks more of the support/magic role, basing his combat off of the use of the force for strength in battle and wisdom in diplomacy.

At about :50 you can see the Consular revealing disguised enemies as one of his abilities.

1:02 demonstrates a devastating AoE ability that knocks down his foes, followed by him reviving a fallen party member.

At 1:10 it appeals that the Consular dispels an ally, and follows-up by summoning a hellish tornado storm on his enemies.

What I really think this video is trying to demonstrate is that the Consular is a support character, but make no mistake that he’ll come equipped with a nice range of offensive abilities. He may be peaceful and diplomatic, but justice rules with an iron fist, or should I say a force push…
