Arkedo Series

For those of you with a hankering for old-school games, Arkedo and Sanuk Games are bringing the Arkedo Series, a collection of three budget games, to the Playstation Store.

The first game in the collection is a little number called JUMP!, which is as old-school as platformers get. JUMP! forces you to make your way around bats, crabs, stalactites, spikes from hell, amongst other obstructions standing in your way. What’s interesting about this game is when you lose your lives and get a game over you have to start from the beginning; it doesn’t get more old-school than that.

The next game in the series is called SWAP!, where you swap blocks to match four in a row, sort of like bejeweled. The catch in SWAP! is that all of the blocks are slowing inching towards the top of the screen, and you already know what that means. SWAP! features combos, bonus blocks, , time freezers, and a heap of challenges to take on after you’ve completed the games five worlds.

Lastly, we have PIXEL!, also a platformer where you play as Pix the Cat, a character that has also appeared in Pix’n Love Rush. You guide Pix the Cat through a nocturnal adventure through a pixelated world.

Now these indie games obviously aren’t blockbuster titles, but you might think they are considering how eloquent the guy in the video is.

Each game will support trophies on the Playstation Network, and each game will be sold individually for $2.49.
