Diablo 3 Beta Gameplay

Recently at the Diablo 3 press event, Blizzard unveiled over seven minutes of Diablo 3 beta footage. This footage focuses primarily on Diablo’s core gameplay.

You’ll notice a lack of in-game music, UI, or menus of any kind. The video focuses purely on gameplay and does a good job of showcasing some of the spells that are going to be available from the myriad of playable classes.

Personally, I haven’t decided which class I’m going to play, although Witchdoctor looks the most intriguing to me at this point due to how obscure his abilities are. Starting at about 1:05 you can see the Witchdoctor break a glass jar on the ground, creating a giant spider to aid him in battle.

Also, at about 4:00 you can see the monk kick what looks like a giant bell into his enemies for some AoE damage. The monk is another class I’m interested in due to how devastating his combos looks. I’m really just having a hard time gauging whether I want to play an in-your-face dps, or try my luck with a ranged character.

At about 4:30 you can see how the game functions when in groups. I could only image how boss fights are going to feel with a party of four, all unleashing abilities on a single target.
