Deus Ex: Human Revolution

Square Enix and Eidos-Montreal recently announced that their upcoming game Deus Ex: Human Revolution has “gone gold” and will be arriving August 26^th.

This will be Eidos-Montreal’s debut title and I’m feeling the good vibes coming from this one,

“We couldn’t be more excited that Deus Ex: Human Revolution has gone gold and will soon be in the hands of expectant gamers,” said Stephane D'Astous, general manager of Eidos-Montreal. “As the first release for Eidos-Montreal, it’s impossible to express how extremely proud we are of the final product and all of the hard work that went into its creation.”

What I find most interesting is the games universe, set in a world where man is abusing cybernetic augmentations to excess the evolutionary process. The idea in itself seems really sensitive, having mankind juggle feelings of inadequacy for those not able to afford augmentation, having those against it for removing the rights to individuality. There’s also the religious perspective as well to take into consideration. The best part is that this games theme is highly relevant as we’re moving into an age that is technology dependent, as well as using early forms of augmentation right now in the form of advanced prosthetics.

This game really strikes a chord for me, and I almost feel that this game should be experienced despite the quality of its gameplay due to how imperative the message is. This issue could one day fully materialize based off of how superficial mankind has already become with plastic surgery. It’s all really thought provoking.   

Deus Ex: Human Revolution will be arriving August 26^th on Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
