Hungribles

Futuremark Games Studios, a Finnish developer, has created something special in Hungribles, their debut iOS title that is currently featured as iPhone game of the week in 111 countries.

Hungribles is a skill shot puzzle game, and if I had to compare it to anything, I’d say it reminds me a lot of Peggle.

Hungribles themselves are tiny creatures with massive appetites, and you have to make them happy by feeding them tasty orbs, which you launch from a glowing mushroom… c’mon it’s an iPhone game! Each Hungrible’s appetite affects the trajectory of the tasty orbs as they travel across the screen. You can earn score bonuses by bouncing the orbs off of walls, curving them around Hungribles, or hitting a pot of gold. The goal in mind is to get a three star rating on each level.

All of the animations and backgrounds are hand-drawn. The game itself looks really colorful and charming, hence why it makes me think of Peggle. I would imagine that if you’re a fan of geometry, billiards, or games that involve any sort of ricochet, then Hungribles has something to offer you on your mobile device.
