Magicka’s PvP Going Live

I have some good news for all you wizards out there.

Magicka is set to release its PvP content sooner than expected. On June 21^st Magicka’s PvP will go live and will be available free of charge for owners of the game.

I’m really excited for this. One common sentiment Magicka players share is the irresistible urge of friendly fire. This game always felt like a PvP game at heart because you are so inclined you decimate whoever you are playing with.

Personally I think the game modes will each require a different approach and strategy.  

Take a look at the different modes you can compete in:

Classic Deathmatch:

Instead of accidentally zapping your companions, you kill them on purpose! It’s every wizard for himself as up to four physically inept beings duke it out in a one mage takes all battle.

Brawl mode:

In Brawl, each player/team only has a set number of lives, and the last ma…wizard standing wins. Just make sure your “friends” don’t squander those precious lives.

Kreitor mode:

A fiendish new mode named after a clever Magicka fan who modded the game, the round based Kreitor mode unlocks Magicks at special intervals during the match, forcing players to come up with new strategies as new spells become available.

Personally, I think the Kreitor mode will be the most interesting. It really forces you to think on the fly and use your resources wisely.

If you haven’t gotten into Magicka since its launch I suggest you check it out. It’s a cheap game that is surely like nothing you’ve played before. I think it’s well worth the money.
