Gears of War 3 Trailer of a Trailer

I’m going to lay it all out on the table, and you don’t have to eat if you’re not hungry. Here it goes. There is a World Premiere Gears of War 3 trailer that is set to be released on Saturday May 28^th.

What’s even stranger is that there was a teaser to the trailer released today.

C’mon…seriously. I feel like a dog begging for table scraps. You know people love your games when they are drooling over a trailer of the trailer; that’s when you’ve made it big time.

Before I go any further, just take a look at this epic tease:

Now in all honesty, this trailer made me do two things:

1. Laugh

2. Get really excited for this game!

The whole “find your long lost father” thing is a bit overdone and melodramatic, but Gears of War has never had a story to die for. Chainsaw orgies and curb stomping two-steps do it for me, but this corny plot direction might be exactly what was missing in the series.

Even in the midst of my overt, pretentious banter, I have to say that this trailer of a trailer did exactly what it was intended to do. Like a virgin at a downtown striptease, my heart raced during the 10 second glimpse into the future.

Like I said, you can expect the full trailer May 28^th. I look forward to the release..
