Electronic Arts and Lucasfilm have announced an update to the publishing agreement for the highly anticipated new MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic. The specifics aren't really important, but more weight has shifted into the lap of Electronic Arts so that production and distribution of the game will be able to run more smoothly.
After the failure of Star Wars Galaxies, Star Wars fans have been looking for a new MMO set in the Star Wars Universe that would provide a proper gaming experience. So far Star Wars: The Old Republic has looked like it just might fulfill that desire. Players will explore an age of Star Wars that existed thousands of years before Darth Vader, when Jedi were numerous and strong. Players will get to play as Jedi, Sith of a variety of other classes that are fitting for the Star Wars universe.
