War of 2012 Closed Beta Review
Two weeks ago, one of my game pals ask me whether I wanted to join a closed Beta for a new game, they were giving the testing players unlimited game coins and resources to play the game, and in return we were to give the developer suggestions on the game. So I figured why not, it's always good to try something new. For 2 weeks I plunged into the depths of the game, testing things I thought might be broken and playing into the end game to find out if the game was worth my time when it officially releases. I was surprised that the suggestions I made where happily accepted and internalized by the team, this was something that I'm not used to seeing as usually you make suggestions and nothing changes. And As for the game, being one that has given it a go, I would said that I'm very glad I gave it a chance, there are many new features in this game that I've missed in other games I've played that are similar. One of the developers told me that it is very popular in Korea and Japan and I can now see why! So now that the NDA has been lifted I'd like to share some of my 2 weeks experience with other players that might want to try this game out.
Name: War of 2012
Type: Strategic RPG
Language:English
Official Site: War.caplay.com
Introduction
Below is the story line, but it's pretty straight forward, the Earth's societies have collapsed after an apocalypse and now you are to pick up the pieces and start an empire.
It was predicted by the Mayan civilization thousands of years ago that on December 21, 2012 a cataclysmic event would unfold. This date marked the completion of their 5,125 year Great Cycle. No one was truly prepared for the events that followed.
War of 2012 is a persistent browser strategy game that puts you in control of a group of small survivors. These trusting refuges will depend on us to lead them out of the darkness that followed an apocalyptic event that has ushered in a new era of human civilization.
Unfortunately all of the technology we have today was lost as a result of that disaster. People lead a hard life and there are thieves and outlaws everywhere. Players control the world's destiny in a raging struggle to build up their own cities and technology. Build up troops, make powerful alliances, and recruit mighty heroes to lay your claim to power!
Graphics
There is a very concise user interface in War of 2012. Players are able to swiftly find game information.
Exquisite exotic graphics:
Controlling
Controls are designed according to the habits of the player. It is easy for every player to get familiar with the UI.
Age Evolution - Experience the rebirth of a changed world.
There are four different ages in the game. Players can see their buildings and troops evolving with the advancement of every age.
Perfect Market System
Wow, finally the Market is not just a place simply for food exchange. In this game, market system is available from the beginning of the game and players are able to buy and sell equipment, items, mounts, heroes, and even spoils of war to each other. To being top in game is not just having a lot of money. This provides a perfect place for the merchant minded players to find success in the game.
Mighty Heroes
Heroes in War of 2012 features a one unit per hero system, so heroes have a main unit they fight exceptionally well with, and then a secondary unit that gives them slight bonuses. Fighting with units that the Hero has no skill with is still possible but no bonus is given. You may send many heroes into a single battle to comprise a winning strategy.
We could own 15 heroes at most. Heroes are graded in rarity: Grey, White, Green, Blue, Purple, Orange, Red and Golden (from low to high). Ones with higher rarity have better bonus attribute points when upgraded there is a transcending system for upgrading rarity.
Unique Battle System
There is 12 different types of troops exist in War of 2012. The interaction between them makes every type of unit important. No one player can be invincible by simply amassing one time of troop. My experience of attacking those guys who joined the test earlier than me, actually give some tiny knowledge on battle skill: Appropriate units and the wisdom of the leader are always most important, making creative strategies essential. Battles take place in a turn-based format. Defender and attacker will attack each other simultaneously when the battle starts. Melee units are found in the front row and ranged attackers belong in the back row. A vast number of different factors ensure each battle is unique.
Evaluation
Excellent graphics capture the essence of a post-apocalyptic earth. A Fluid UI, detailed game information, and outstanding customer support makes War of 2012 enjoyable to play and provides countless hours of fun. However it is not a game that's easily mastered. Balancing and managing resources, training heroes, upgrading the buildings and technology...there is much to be taken into account.
To be great one must plan, practice and evolve with the game. Of course, you could have words saying if you try it. The above is my 2 weeks experience in that game.
