Conquest adds a new conquest mode (like Day-of-Defeat) to
Counter-Strike: Source. This includes respawning, player classes, and
capturing control points. If you’re a CSS player and you like DOD’s
conquest mode gameplay, or if you don’t like waiting for the round to
end after you die, Conquest may be just what your looking for.

You need to download and
install the Conquest Flag HUD Icons. The server can not download these
files to your client like it does with maps, models, and sounds.
The default player classes are:
Player classes are completely configurable by server admins, so the weapon loadouts and class names may be different on non-standard servers. Each class has a weapon upgrade available for purchase, as well as the ability to purchase up to two he nades, flashbangs, and smokegrenades. All classes start with a glock or usp, but other pistols are available via the Conquest buy menu. Each class will have a limit on the number of players who can use that class to keep a good mix of classes at all times.
Flags mark control points. To date, all of the maps use flags that look like this:

Map makers have the option of creating their own map flags so in future maps you might see all types of variations, including items that aren’t flags at all.
Map makers also have the option of making a map that “responds” to the flag captures. New passages could open up, displays can be updated, etc. You can see an example of this in cq_king: the two big flags at the top of the fortress show who controls the top flag and the mini-maps located in the spawn areas are updated to show who controls each flag on the map.
