With the sequel (or prequel) to BioShock, BioShock 2, being recently announced, many of its fans are getting ready for another round of intense underwater first person action. The surprise is that at the time of announcement the game was already in production, so I think we can expect it to hit the shelves sooner rather than later.

You can bet the creators of the game, Take Two Interactive, are hoping the second game in the series does as well as the original, which sold over two million copies worldwide. The amazing popularity of the original was, I believe, quite unexpected, and it would appear the creators will keep coming back for more as long as they can.

With EA trying to purchase Take Two for some time now, I’m sure the announcement of this upcoming release will only prove to increase the value of their company and earn them some more dollars if the time does come to sell.

So all of you lucky folks with an Xbox 360 will have the opportunity to continue the bone-chilling, icy, underwater adventure with the next addition to the BioShock family. It should be interesting to see if they choose to stay with the same concept and setting or if the game will be shifted dramatically. I suppose we’ll just have to wait until approx. October 2009.
