When decorating your sim’s new home, you are now capable of matching every piece of furniture to the rest of the decorations. From shabby chic, to granny sophisticate, to groovin’ bachelor pad, your sim’s place of retreat while now be customized to them exactly. Not to mention the paint or wallpaper on the walls will blend with the rest of the colors. I think this is a great idea because it will be much easier to mesh all of the decorating elements of a house together. Although, these facts mat be more important to me than they are to some of our other readers.
A sim’s personality has always been rather vague in the Sims 2 game. Sure, you can tell them what they like and dislike and whether they are going to want to make their bed when they wake up in the morning, but have we ever been able to really know what kind of personalities these Sims have? Not really, no. Now you can! Is your Sim going to be suave and a smooth talker, or a shy outcast with no drive to meet anyone new? Will your Sim be the captain of his football team, or the captain of the hot dog eating contest? Now this is all within your control. It should be fun, not to mention interesting, to create these people exactly how we want and see how they react to the Sims world.
The appearance of your Sim is now all up to you, as well. How a Sim presents themselves is important, and you can give them whichever appearance you want, from skinny to overweight, from long hair to balding.
All of these changes are important in comparison to the most impressive change. The neighborhoods are now seamless. I’m thinking this means that your Sim can walk out of their front door and wander about their town; going grocery shopping, stopping to say hi to their friends, etc. This should create an interesting dynamic to the game, since we will now have access to the entire town while we play from one specific household’s point of view.
But of course, I will have to hold up making any more assumptions until we hear more from EA. I wouldn’t want to get everyone disappointed. But on the whole, it sounds like a very promising possibility to me.
