The best-selling Call of Duty® 4: Modern Warfare™ title was named “Overall Game of the Year” at the 11th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards Show, held last night in Las Vegas, Nevada. Infinity Ward’s intense and cinematic action game swept the awards show, also taking home top honors for “Console Game of the Year,” “Action Game of the Year” and “Outstanding Achievement in Online Game Play.”

“It’s an honor for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare to be recognized by the Academy as the best game of 2007,” said Robin Kaminsky, executive vice president of publishing, Activision, Inc. “The team at Infinity Ward is committed to delivering groundbreaking entertainment to gamers worldwide and all of the awards are an acknowledgement of their talent, dedication and hard work.”

Released in November of 2007, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare quickly topped worldwide sales charts to become the #1 best-selling game by units worldwide for calendar 2007, according to The NPD Group, Chart Track and GFK Group.
