When I was crazy enough to think of buying a PS3, that was one (of two) of the major selling points of it. The ability to install an operating system on it would make it something I'd actually use besides the Blu-Ray. The only problem I have with that is that with OS', even on consoles, you have the possibility of viruses and other stuff that might harm the console. Also, people probably have found ways of downloading...hacks or other things onto the OS to be used in games. Though, you have to admit, it is pretty cool..Yellow dog is a good operating system and it could be put to good use. Microsoft really needs to follow up on their so called promise of bring a folding esc feature to the 360. Rossetta I believe it was called, im sure that I would Download it..

Even with MSN running in the background it should not lag. I usually have msn running, along with Live, while chatting with my friends both over the voice communicator and using the chatpad...and I usually have music playing and i STILL don't lag in the menus Or in the the games themselves. September 07 360s shouldn't do that as they have the new(er) chipset then the November 06 chipset that I have in mine.
360 warranties were extended to three years, so if you want to try and send it in, it would still be under warranty. You'd have to explain your case but chances are they would accept it and look in, perhaps even replacing it.

You should send that in to get look into. It really should not be doing that. Remember, like I said, every single xbox is still under warranty for atleast another year. So if they deem it worthy of a replacement then you wont have to pay for a new one they will just send one right too you.

Lol, do you get your stuff second hand there Slayer, or you must just have REALLY bad luck. I believe accessories are covered under the warranty, though I would phone before sending in as it would be pointless. Here's a list of sources you can try to get that information:
Phone:
7-Day a week service: 1-800-4MY-XBOX
International (direct dial to U.S.): 425-635-7180
Hearing Impaired (TDD device): 1-866-740-9269 or 425-635-7102
Hours of operation (every day):
9:00 A.M. to 1:00 A.M. Eastern Time
6:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M. Pacific Time
Email:
Xbox Hardware assistance: Xbox Hardware
Xbox 360 Hardware assistance: Xbox 360 Hardware
Xbox LIVE assistance: Xbox LIVE support
Xbox 360 LIVE assistance: Xbox 360 LIVE support
You can also get live chat with Microsoft employees to see if you can fix the problem yourself. Im not sure of the link to that but you can find it by going to the support home: Support Home.
