Not sure if this counts as a trick but saving up some money to pay for part of it, or making an agreement to pay for some of it might help. Maybe even try to get some sort of work. This will show your parents that you really want it and keep the cost down for them. Parents don't like to buy expensive stuff that wont get used.

Yes, phils got the logic on this one!

The same trick i used when i wanted to go on holiday, throw a pile of money at them (not literally) and prove that your willing to work for it, and you've already worked for some of it, this show's once you have the object you desire you will use it to its full capabilites!

Nothings free i'm afraid :( :(

I know parents are sometimes stingy, but i can assure you that the expensive thing would most certainly not go unused. ^^ but thanks for the tips, i'll have to try them on the parents later. :)

I think the best thing is to generate some funds of your own. With the winter being over, there has to be some homes that need a strapping young man with a lot of energy to assist in yard cleanup, mowing the lawn, getting rid of small critters like chipmunks and/or squirrels.

I have a neighbor who I assisted during the winter on snow removal . . . $20 each storm. Basically, my son and I cleared the sidewalks and did part of her driveway and now my son has about $300 saved. I let him keep my share. Last time I checked Dell has the 60GB XBOX 360 for $240 provided that you had the discount code.

If your parents are Netflix subscribers, you can always mention that you can actually download movies on the XBOX 360 from Netflix as well.

My son also wants the XBOX 360 and play Left 4 Dead. We're still trying to persuade his mother about the purchase but so far it's been a "NO!" Anyway, I'm thinking a new mountain bike would be the better purchase as he has seriously outgrown his current bicycle.

Good luck to you!
