SpawnPoint - Where Game Begins

Does anyone happen to have the condemned 2 because i have come across a very annoying thing and i was wondering if anyone else has had the problem and knows how i could possible get around it.
What has happened is i was on the mission called "The Museum" in a fight with 2 guys and managed to run past an autosave point while in the fight so whenever i died it would reload me back in that fight (If you catch my drift) and everytime i tried reloading i would be dead in no time due to them having swords, i tried everything so i gave up and had to start the mission agian. And i have to do the examining evidence to work out where the blood trail came from but it wont let me examine it. i can go into it but hen i put my crosshair thing over the tyre mark light up by my UV light it tells me it is a "tyre mark" and i press the left trigger to get the questions up about where it came from but it just DOESN'T COME UP. (If you play the game you know what i am on about i hope)
Please someone help i really cant be bothered starting the game over again as there is quite a few boring/annoying missions i cannot be bothered with.
