Anti-Cheat Task Force
Hackers Caught: 91 |
To start with, there are 3 kinds of bans....
temp bans server permanent bans global bans Temp bans can be anywhere from a couple of miniutes to a 24hr depending on the offense and admin. Most bans will fall into this category. These bans are for spammers, glitchers, TK'ers, excessive language offenses, ect. It is YOUR responsibilty to read our rules for playing in our servers. Rules can be found in our FAQ section. If you break these rules, don't come to the forums crying about your temp ban. Server permanent bans mean exactly what it says, gone from a specific server forever. (by steam ID) These are given to complete tools, repeat offenders, and extremely abusive players. Global bans are a ban from every Spawnpoint server there is. This is almost exclusively reserved for racists and hackers. There have been some extreme circumstances in the past where others have found themselves on the GBL, but these are rare. Can you contest bans? Yes, even global bans. We will have others on the anticheat team review the demos or proof sent in to double check ourselves. Do not waste our time and yours if you were obviously hacking. (spinning aimbots and speed hacks come to mind) This will make you look like a complete tool and will take time away from other "legit" disputes. How do I contest a ban? If you believe you were truly banned wrongfully, make your case in the "Report an incident" forum. Don't forget your numerical steam ID, server IP where you were banned from, and ingame name to speed the process up. You also can send any proof you saved in to abuse@spawnpoint.com . The sooner you send in your proof, the faster we can get your case resolved. You can also read more about our policies on bans here... http://www.spawnpoint.com/forums/gen..._policies.html I just found out I am banned. What do I do? How do I find out how long it is? The first thing you do is go down to our "Report an incident" section of our forums and post your ban. The information that we need to look into your ban is.. Numerical steam ID that looks like this... STEAM_0:1:1234567 Your in game name The server IP and server name you were playing on. Please don't just say 24/7 Assualt, we have many of those. It is ok if you don't know the server IP but providing it definitely speeds things up. Most bans are going to be 24hrs or less. Can I contest the ban in the same thread as the one I used for finding out why/how long I was banned? Yes you can. Just remember to keep it respectful. Provide facts and reasons certain things you do are done. Don't start demanding things. If you start becoming abusive, you might find yourself locked out of your own thread. Once our Anti-cheat team has come to a decision, one of them will post it. Our anticheat team does not ban if even one of them says "No" or has doubts. Can I see the demos that "convict" me? No, you can't see the demos as they become property of Spawnpoint once they are submitted. Are the Anticheat teams reviewed demo decisions final? Can I go over their head? Yes the anticheat team's decisions are final at that point. No you can't go over their head. They are given certain perameters to work under and then left alone. These are fair and impartial members of our staff. They are trusted with this task and Spawnpoint will not overturn their decisions. You will have to get a new steam ID to come back to Spawnpoint servers if they find you "guilty". DO NOT POST ABOUT YOUR ISSUES IN THIS THREAD. The "Report and incident" forum is where those belong. This is an information thread only. Keep your responses on topic in this thread.
