Hello, my name is Rodney. I am new to this forum.I met this awesome admin on one of your servers and i saw that he was keeping the server under control. I asked him if admin was free and he said yes. He told me the regulations of how to become an admin and brought me to this website.Seeing how he managed the server I wanted to help as well.
So now he got me on here to be active and get demos!I play on the crackhouse server.
Im always in and out of that server and once in a while I see people breaking the rules, but unfortunatly no admins are on. So im Trying to help out! Thank you! P.S.
I hope i meet some new friends and see you all soon!

Welcome to the forums Rodney, nice to see you taking the time to come on here and become part of the bigger community. Demos are tricky to get the hang of, but once you have done it once or twice it becomes like second nature.

What you do is open your console normally the ` key, you must make sure that the console is enabled in options - multiplayer - advanced options. Once in console you type record demoname demoname being what you calll the demo, i normally go hacker name or part of it, then what the problem is. SO if i was recording fred who had a wallhack, i would type in console record fredWH. It is then important that you get status in your demo,m to do this simple type status in console. Then it is a simple case of watching the player and getting enough proof. When done go back into console and type stop to end the demo. The demo will then be sent to your cstrike folder which can be found at
C:\ProgramFiles\Steam\Steamapps\youraccountname\counter-strikesource\cstrike and it will be nmed what you named it. You then submit your demo to http://www.spawnpoint.com/reportHacker.php. you will find that link next to the apply for admin link on the servers page. And the ACT will then watch your demo and make their mind up on the resulting punishment.

You will also find lots of helpful advice in the frequently asked questions section on the server page, like advice on how to admin and the basic you need to know, as well as spottting hackers.

Anyway welcome, to spawnpoint, i am sure you will love it here. As Brendon says there is plenty to look at here, and good luck with your future admin application. You will usually find me frequenting the UK assault server, that is my usual stomping grounds, i don't tend to venture too far across the pond, i end up with quite a large ping.

Nice post! Very informative; however, there are a few things I'd like to add:

Sulli told you that you'll need to get status in your demo - don't worry about this too much; one of our community members wrote a server plugin that automatically enters 'status' when someone starts recording a demo. It is, however, a good idea to type it in yourself once or twice. Also try sm_who and sb_status for bonus points ;)

There's been a hack going around lately where the user changes names every so often - make sure you get a new instance of "status" everytime he does this - it helps us out a lot.

Ultimately, not everything can be written down in the FAQ and Help documents - it's usually a good idea to get to know the admins on the servers you like to play on (or SSS and other staff members). They are there to help you and answer any questions you might have. I'm usually on or around my computer, so feel free to add me @ Tullsy. Most people just like to chat with me, but I always enjoy helping people out and answering their questions.

Even if there is an admin available - record the demo and submit it! The more evidence against a player, the better - and if you don't catch him this time, we always appreciate the additional evidence if a demo of the same player is submitted in the future.
