Demo question

I have been practicing recording demo’s to insure I am doing everything properly before I begin submitting to hacker@phxx.net.

I have noticed that while I’m recording the demo (First person view) the players name appears clearly as typically does in the game. However, I’m confused as to why when I review my recorded demos, the players name does not appear as it does when first person viewing them during the game.

Is this normal not to view the player’s name that is being first person recorded? If so, I would offer some concerns about that reality to Admin’s and senior staff via private messaging.

Secondly, I forgot what the command to stop viewing a recorded demo is.

Yes it is normal for the name not to show up in the demo. That is why I added to the "how to record a hacker" sticky to ask that you (as the recorder of a demo) get them either killing or being killed by someone. The other thing that confirms who you are watching is "auto spectate". Some servers have it and some don't but it requires admin to use.

Don't worry TJ. If it's any consolation 167.17 doesn't have the "auto-spectate" feature

You have probably already had this answered elsewhere or figured it out on your own but since it was never answered here: stopdemo in console.

Definitely check out the sticky for instructions on how to record hacker demo mentioned by Xtreme earlier. After rereading the steam friends console text the other night, I realized I should have sent you here first for demo instructions or steamban.com for instructions vice the mani admin plugin instructions.
Which server do play on again? I was making my admin rounds Monday night and lost track of which server you played on. I'm pretty sure it was an Assault server, 174.5?

TJ plays exclusively on 167.17 mate.

Following a discussion yesterday he's sent me a couple of demos to check for him and see if he's got the hang of them.
