I think I have a great question for you all. Here s the situation: someone comes in repeatedly...day after day and hacks (aim) on the same server and throws it in our face. Admin. bans this person for a while (a few hours perhaps/a day??), only to have them return the following day and start all over again. This is just wrong! This person obviously has not learned his/her lesson...why should we be subjected to this. Any hacking is wrong, but under these circumstances it s even worse! What can be done about this, if anything? Admin Shin...I think you know who I am referring to (zm3)...it s happened again! It s the third day in a row now.

Any admin that bans a player for cheating needs to take a demo and submit it to hacker@spawnpoint.com so they can be added to the global ban list. which is now up. If the admin in question took a demo and submitted it then he should be banned from all spawnpoint servers provided he was found to be cheating. This is why it is important when you spot a cheater to record a demo and type status in console while the demo is running and submit the demo to hacker@spawnpoint.com so they can remove that player from all spawnpoint servers.

Thanks for yr reply admin doc! Do admins automatically take demos and submit them when they spectate someone (especially if they see what the hacker is doing)? ...or do they ban them for a short period? Could you also pls tell me where I can find the directions (instructions) on how to take a demo and submit it? I hope they are in simple English!!! I ve never done it before but maybe it s time I learn! Yes, I really am an ultra noob when it comes to that!

All admins take demos of hackers, even if the admin permanently bans the hacker from the server on which the hacking took place. Conclusive demos result in a permanent ban from all SpawnPoint servers, and even non-admins can record and submit demos.

Most admins only have access to a 24hr ban and without the demo of the hackes submitted to hacker@spawnpoint.com, they will be back. When we get a demo of a hacker, we don't give them a chance to learn their lesson....that steam ID is banned from all Spawnpoint servers forever. They will have to purchase another copy to return.

I agree, with one thing pwnzer said.
When i have banned people i know the ACT staff is voulenteer, and as such have other things to do. I have never seen a ban response come back in less than 2 days, in which the person can come back and hack again. I agree that not all admins need permanent but the 1 day cap is rather low in relation to the response rate ( once again no complaint here).

Your last 2 submissions did take longer than 2 days, that was because the ban list was out of action for just over a week after the new site launch. ALL 70+ demo submissions received while the ban list was down were dealt with within 12 hours of the ban list being back on line.

The only other demo I have records of you sending in was dealt with in under 10 hours.

I've read several of them as well. Mainly the how to spot hackers, admin for dummies and I think one other but I forget.
