I have heard many rumors and have seen doccumentarys on the NAT GEO channel about Mt. St Helens erupting and causing a super volcano eruption that could take out the U.S. They said something like there is supereruptoin every 400000-60000 years or sumthin like that and they said it has been like 442535 yers since the last super eruption. Also, it said that Yellow Stone National park is heating up a lot more. Does any1 have anything to say about this?
Supervolcano Yellowstone heres a link to a site i found. If you are not good at reading scientific stuff then dont bother reading it. You wont understand all the graphs and things.

As far as I'm aware Mt. St. Helens is completely unreleated to Yellowstone, and is not a supervolcano. I think they were probably using it as a comarison eruption, since it's the largest in recent history.
Under Yellowstone park there is a massive magma chamber, and there is a massive eruption orders of magnitude bigger than Mt. St. Helens every 400,000 - 600,000 years. As far as we can tell, the last eruption was ~640,000 years ago. If anyone is interested, the BBC did a really good 2-part drama-cum-documentary on them called "Supervolcano".

That is an incredibly interesting topic, especially when they speak of the destructive capabilities of a supervolcano. The one graph that really stick in my head (and i haven't read this in years) is this one...
