DX Level and Stuff

So, I used to run TF2 just fine on a Celeron M with Raedon X200M (those that don't know, a really bad g-card) on -dxlevel 80. However, now I've gotten a better duo core and stuff and a better g-card but I can't use -dxlevel anything lower than 100. ???

Don't set the -dxlevel. Since you have a better graphics card you should be able to let it autoconfigure itself to what it needs to be.

Wow I have the same problem mate, but I'm using a laptop and the same graphic's card. Everytime when I try to play TF2 at -dxlevel81, it crashes! It use to work before, but now it doesn't anymore. So I'm just waiting for a new desktop to come along during winter. And -dxlevel80 works fine for me on Portal.

My computer with the X200M is a laptop too. The desktop is the one that crashes/super lags when I join a game. Its not my directx's fault I don't think.

I think it might be myn's, my graphic's card is really crappy and the ram is crappy also. I'm deciding to get a new comp for X-Mas (hopefully) with the new 8800GT by Nvida and some more stuff. Looking forwards to it. I think the X200M is not good for playing games. I've tried Call Of Duty 2 and 4 and I have to lower down the graphics just to play it! The same thing with Need For Speed: Carbon. It works fine with Sims 2 but the point is that X200M sucks!
