my friend in school sat near a t.v. He did something with a psp and the t.v. turned on without any1 touching it. He did it over and over again so the teacher had to call the janitor and electrician. They unplugged the t.v. and said they would check it out sometime. He refused to tell me cause he said if any found out, he could get in a lot of trouble. But anyways. does any1 know how he did it?

psps have an IR port at the top

he probably modded it and added an application that would utilize the IR port

Yea he prolly added custom firmware to his PSP and used it as a remote.

actully just have your psp on firmware 1.5 and add an app called irshell.

i had a similar problem with my ipod, the tv would change channels and the ipod woudl turn on and off or mess with the volume

psp can use the ir just like a pda (ir is only available on the older model also). Both are capable of being used as a tv remote with either a program or firmware.

yes you can turn your psp into a remote.. i've done it before its great! but requires the right ir codes for the right tv.. and so forth..

its good but anything with an ir port can do it

he has installed CFW and installed the universal remote controll. which allows him to use his PSP as a remote. :P its a neat trick and i use it in currys/ dixons to annoy the staff lol

IRshell is nice program which can do lot of more than control irdecives, but it is most funniest thing. Once in mall I shutdowned lot of TV's. :D
