What map size is best?

As a mapper and just out of general curiosity, what size is best for gameplay. This mainly applies to custom maps as the 'official' maps tend to have pretty much the same size etc.

So, what will it be?

Uber Large (2hrs to find anyone, i.e. cs_bank)



Large (About dust_2 size)



Medium (Assault Size)



Small (Hello I can see you)



Tiny (GET OFF MY HEAD!!!)

well I like everything but UBEr large :P but the real tiny are only fun with a mod

I've always been a small map guy.

Like maps that can give you strategical gameplay. so im for dust2 size

Uber large are good for deathmatch.

small good for gungame

everymap can have a purpose!

I like everything! I tend to prefer maps on the larger side of things for general games, dus2, office, cbble, apart from assault which is pretty nice for a smaller one. Smaller ones can be fun for gungame, or some custom "pick-up-weapons-only" maps, like crazytowers and ak_colt series.

i would go with large mostly because i play on the dust servers a lot. I don't think it would be truly fun to play on a very tiny map because there is no room.
