I agree, labec. Most sites require registration as a minimum for downloads, then they usually have a choice of servers, of which a few are reserved for paying members and the rest are limited to the number of people who can download, and then you have to wait to enter the queue.

I would pay if it means supporting spawnpoint. If you get extra features that's a bonus.

Keep in mind that SP does not accept donations.
They are trying to find out if people are willing to pay $35/year to subscribe.

* No Advertisements on the Site
* Alternate Color Font for Forum Username List
* Early access to any download, might just have to hold those dl's back a week and give them to subscribers.
* Special Subscriber only DLs
* Update to VBulletin 3.6.8
* Special Sig bar that show ur kills and deaths in a certain server.
Kinda like this but you can edit it to ur liking.

I would pay 35$ a year. Its not that bad just don't go out to eat or whatever a couple of times and your good.

labec you could just add special features to it like:

Install Arcade mod for Paid user.
Special Emoticons.
Name Colors. (Even Dual Layered Color)
No Ads (like you offered)
Special Dls (SP game skins, 1st look vids in HD,etc)
Name entered bi-monthly into a prize giveaway.

Oh and can't forget the Free Bumper Sticker throw in. lol

Just tossing out some interesting thoughts that make it worth while. I am sure people would like some of the above features.

I think there will always be those who would and those who wouldn't pay Tony. I reckon it's just what you will give them for their cash

How about a donate link on the website ? Like a paypal link or w.e. , If you start asking money to register, a lot of people will leave, a link would probably solve that .

Razr they don't want donations thats the whole reason for this. They want to feel they are offering something for the money they make.

I doubt people will leave because it's not going to be everyone paying to register. The paying is like going to ign.com and having basic (free) registration or paid subscriber with access to extra inside stuff (videos, news, dls, and more).

The paid account will be optional not mandatory to registration.

btw, SP wouldn't be gaining money since having a donation link costs money.
and I'm sure that not all of us would donate.

Its because donating is YOU wanting to give the amount of money that YOU"RE comfortable with. Not paying 35 dollars to subscribe..
