I am admin on a cscz server and about a month or 2 ago, I logged out for dinner and left steam running and when I came back I couldn't reconnect because it said my steam ID was already playing on the server I had admin on....at first I thought that I had been hacked and someone took my steam ID but then decided to just shut everything down, including my PC, reset my cable modem and then tried again....It worked fine after that. Is this just some random glitch? It hasn't happened since but I was just curious if it has happened to anyone else.

It's a glitch. It happened to me too about a month ago, and the logging off and rebooting worked for me too. I don't knwo if it's a Steam issue or a server issue, but I'll look into it and see what I can find out.

it's a server side software issue that Valve is aware of and working on.

That happened to be long ago. I ctrl alt delete'd and ended hl.exe and steam.exe and then restarted them. It worked after that.

I've had similiar issues. There are times where it will give one person a Pending STEAM ID and then give the next person to join the server that person's Steam ID. Then the 3rd person will get the 2nd persons ID and so forth and so on. I've even had it change my name to the person's Steam ID I'm currently on. :o In these cases it often requires a server reboot. Doesn't happen often, but it does happen from time to time.

Happened to me a few times, but what was wierder is;

My little brother was playing from his room, while I was playing in the basement in the same server. The server must have gotten confused with 2 commections from the same IP at the sametime or somthing, because our SteamID's got swapped, and he had admin for those 5 minutes
