My kd ratio improve by about 0.5 - 1 when I had some one on it, even if they were alive it was still handy to co-ordinate an attack.

I think it was the "even if they were stll alive it was still handy" part people were referring to. it's the same as venting...may not technically be cheating, but still gives an unfair advantage

I have no idea what "ghosting" is sorry. I was just saying that if a friend dies and he is on teamspeak, he could tell me if the back doors are clear or how many snipers are at the front. Many clans do it and reap the benefits, I was just offering these benefits to others.

It is kind of unfair on the others who are not as organised, but it is not cheating to any extent.

Just a guess but it ghosting telling everyone where people are using the ingame voice thingy?

Edit: As for the venting thing, if you had a partner to tell you when the vents are clear, all you have to do is nade near the ladder bit, and then shoot through the metal. Luckily vent camping is "frowned upon" and not many people do it [8D]

if you are dead only other teammates who are dead can hear you when you use ingame voice, unless all talk is turned on, in which case everyone on both sides can hear everything you say.
Venting is using the Ventrilo voice program (basically the same as teamspeak) when you are dead to spec players on the other team and tell the other people in your voice channel where they are, which way they are looking, when they are about to come around a corner, etc.
A lot of admins frown on this (some will slay/kick/ban for it) because it gives almost as much of an unfair advantage as a wall hack does. This is why in matches (OGL, CAL, etc) the server config does not allow you to spec the other team when you are dead. It autos you to 1st person spec on your teammates and does not allow any other views.
Admins will also use Vent or teamspeak a lot so they can discuss things without players knowing. For example, anytime there's someone we think might be hacking we'll discuss it with each other in vent so we can be sure of what we think we're seeing before taking any action. This is one of the main reasons you will almost never see [PHXX] members arguing with each other in the forums over whether or not someone was hacking...because they discussed it and agreed about what they were seeing before the ban. We also use it to have other admins join a server under an alias if we want someone watched but don't want them knowing an admin is specing them.

You still have to have the skill to kill them,but I see what you mean. I dont see how it can be classed as chetaing though, you are just using one programme at the same time as another, they do not affect each other in anyway.

Would you say having 2 computers next to each other, one on specs and onefinding and killing everyone, is cheating? IMO its just using all (non hacking) resources available to maximise kills.

Except that that is considered cheating. What you just described is ghosting. Venting, ghosting are the same thing. It is harder to catch, but is still considered cheating. Steambans would ban for this if they can definatively prove you are doing it. It is the same as using wallhacks. It may not be as accurate in close range, but covers a much greater range than wallhacks do. There is a program in development called Hackcam: [link=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HackCam]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HackCam[/link] If this program were used, it would identify a person doing this is as cheating because it would show the person as seemingly having foresight. Any unfair advantage given to a person is considered cheating.

Think of it this way. Wouldn't you be upset if an admin gave your opponent noclip in a one on one match?

I'm not saying your teamspeak idea shouldn't be implemented, but if it is, the spectating cameras need to be put into force chase cams at the very least. The teamspeak should be made available to everyone in the server as well, but mainly the forced chase cam like in league matches.

Teamspeak and Vent are for scrims/matches.
