Alright, so now that im an admin at the Da server, ive been doing my best to make sure no hackers are there so that they dont ruin the game. Unfortunatley, other than the myg0t people, who practically beg to be banned, im having some trouble identifying hackers. I've been watching this one guy for over a week, checking all his stats here on spawnpoint, specing him, the whole nine yards. Myself and 3 other DA members agree, this guy is not legit, he either has aim or wall. So i banned him and somehow he is back, unbanned, and mad about being banned. Should i ban him again? the last thing i want to do is ban someone who is just really good.

Here is another guy I just cant figure out. He is relatively new to the server and was actually pointed out to me by another admin.vGuerilla His stats aren't as impressive, but i speced him and he wasnt even close to the person and was getting hits, but not hs.

379 kills with 35 deaths with a weapon like a scout is not impossible, or too hard to get. Consider how many people use a scout every round, maybe 1 per team. Now...what are the odds that 1 per team has of killing this guy in the round...considering his skill with a scout? Not terribly high...

Headshot ratios don't mean much. You have probably seen me play there, I suck. I have a 65.00% headshot ratio in that server according to Phychostats, with 180 kills.

The fact that most of his shots land in the head or chest might be a little iffy, but take into acocunt he only shoots one bullet at a time. If he has a steady hand and can scout well, he is likely to have a hitbox like that.

Not saying he is or is not hacking, but just keep those things in mind when looking for hackers. It can be very hard to detect a hack on a player who uses a sniper rifle..

i believe that it is actually pretty difficult to have most of your shots hitting chest/head with a scout. looking at the psychostats for players at scoutzknivez server the majority of hits go to the arms. maybe i'm wrong..or source is completely different. i mean..just look at how you do with a scout Mr_Me [8D]according to the stats of that particular player, he does have the most kills with the scout, maybe suggesting he uses that very often.

i agree that stats don't tell the complete story, but it is still possible it may be hacks. i suggest you record demos before you ban.

I've spent a lot of time speccing suspicious players in the last month or so. A good wallhacker can be very hard to spot, by good I mean they hide it well by avoiding shooting through boxes/doors and tracking players through walls. We (me and Sturmbann) had a few of these on one of the UK servers, and I spent weeks trailing them using different names and making loads of demos. It took many hours but eventually they made mistakes and we had several good demos that I submitted to hacker@phxx and the player was banned.

One tactic I found useful is changing my player name before connecting, if they know an admin is on then they will take more care. This is how I've got most of my demos and banned players.

I find it difficult to spot aimbots when players are using scoped weapons, so on a scoutzknives server I'd find it difficult to be sure.

Communicating with other admins is always a good idea.

Thanks for the imput. I forgot the mention that his second favorite weapon is the clarion, another difficult weapon to spot a hack. Burst fire, looks like he might have no-recoil, and he gets a lot of hsed with that too, but my knowledge in the clarion is limited. Ive also seen him run in and kill several people then stop and stare at another person, not shooting, then get killed, which makes me think that he is hacking and trying to hide it.Maybe I'm just mad that he takes all the killsBut seriously, this is really tricky, im gonna get as many demos asI can and post them on this server so I can get all of you guys' valuable imput, especially to a new admin.

Another factor to take into account is your fps vs. the person you are specing fps.....your ping vs. their ping. If there are significant differences in either of these, it will look like they are shooting where the player isn't, but to them they are aiming at them. (specing a scoped weapon is really off in these instances)....as far as what to watch for with aimbot...I look for the "snap to position" that the crosshairs do. I also watch how the move...if they are noobish and sloppy when they are navigating the maps then turn into a L337 rocksteady aiming machine, this also raises suspision. I had alot of the same questions you had too until I spotted a real hacker. My advise is don't perm ban anyone you aren't 100% sure of. Even if you do they can come back because SPAWNPOINT updates the server list frequently. The only way to get them perm banned is demo submission...this will ban them from all of the SPAWNPOINT servers. I know it sucks sometimes when someone owns and it takes away from playing time to watch someone, record them, then submit the demos when they might just be good.
Think of how you would feel if you went to a new server, was having a really good day, owned the server, and then some admin banned you for hacking.....'nuff said.

Yeah, there are times when players will play well for some unknown reason. I was playing on the Ghetto Gums server yesterday, and sometimes I play well, sometimes I don't. The map was office, and I was a ct. I got 2, maybe three headshots on first burst shots, and there were two times when I turned a corner and looked right at a terrorist and fired. Of course the t's were in typical camping spots. No prefiring mind you. Anyways, I apparently convinced a regular that I was hacking hardcore. This prompted another admin to start speccing and recording me. I was under an alias at the time, so he didn't realize it was me. I watched the conversation between the two players and didn't say anything, just kind of chuckled to myself. The regular (Pink) said he wasn't going to play until after I was banned, and left. The admin continued recording. I didn't say anything until I saw the admin had stopped speccing me. Shortly after the regular had left, I had started dying, alot, right at the beggining of the rounds. He had made a comment to the general public that if I ws hacking, I had turned them off. But before that I had gotten a score of 11-2. Anyways, I told the admin to feel free to record me anytime. Hey, for all he knows, I am hacking. Just because I am an admin does not rule out the possability that I am hacking. Just for the record though, I was not. [:'(]

But every so often I will play really well. I don't know what it is exactly, but I think it is mostly me being luckier than hell for a map. My luck always runs out after a while. My best score yet was 16-1 on Italy, but then someone changed the map, and I think my new score ended up negative .

I know it is kind of mean, but the next time I see the regular, Pink Mist, on; I intend to jump on with the same alias. I won't say anything, but I would just like to see his reaction and chuckle quietly to myself some more.

His PhychoStats scout hit box is in the chest and in the arm, this however doesn't mean that he is hacking he may just be good. Alot of the [R.P.D.] members shots are all landed on the chest or on the left arm. The thing is the scout is a very inaccurate weapon and never seems to hit the same place twice when your using it over long distance (the AWP always hits the same spot).Myadvice is to record a demo and send it into the guys and they will go over it, and you wont have to worry about it.
