Ok, I've one Question, What happens after We send in a Demo of someone Hacking, Dose it get sent into Steam and they ban them Perminately, Or only from the SP Servers?

When you record the demo, and you type "status" in to console, then that will only allow our staff to permanently remove the player(s) from the Spawnpoint network.

If you type "status" and then "sb_status" (sb_status only works on a few servers IIRC), then the Spawnpoint staff can send in the demo to Steambans, that way those players can be removed from all VAC secure servers. Not sure if they are removed from all servers or just VAC secure servers, actually.... hmm....

So in order for them to be Banned Perminately from the Steam servers you would have to use 'sb_Status'? or dose 'status' work too? B'cause I don't have IRC, Or does Steam automaticly do that? I'm completely clueless to how most of steam works, I know some commands, Don't know how to script tho. =\

sb_status is a command you can type into the console the same way you type in status.

Sb_status only works if we are running steambans on our servers, at this moment we are not running steambans. So sb_status will not work.

This is because the steambans plugin caused problems with server stability.

Steambans is NOT Steam or VAC.

Steambans covers nearly 8000 servers, so if you record a cheat, and you type sb_status, you can get them banned from those servers.

I know 174.5 was running Steambans, but the plugin is outdated, so I guess you guys took it off altogether?

Oh well! Would rather have servers running smoothly anyway!

Ya...I sent staff@spawnpoint an e-mail about that. Toph said they were working on updating it!

Thats Good new, All these Mic Spammers will be put away for good, Its going to be a very useful plugin and if it continues to mess up, I can have my friend look at the Steam Plugin cause he knows Coding "C++" And all that stuff, I used to run servers, But they werent that good cause My computer was low on Memory and the Bandwith wasn't too good, So yeah, But anyways, I'm rabling off subject, Bottom line, Thats good news.

Well, banning mic spammers and such, are only really applicable the servers that we run. Steambans are only there to ban hackers.

So if you catch someone repeatedly glitching, mic spamming, abusing other players over the mic/chat, or being racist jerks, then just record a demo and send them to hacker@spawnpoint.com and the staff will take care of them.

Still The hacker removal helps a portion of the server, even if it dose slow it down slightly.
