Default Spotting a hacker

How many times have you sat there in spec and thought "that guy wasn't aiming anywhere close to where he was hitting" I was going to ask if this is becauseof a framerate and/or ping difference. I have a high framerate and a low ping so maybe it would look different to me than on the screen of the person I was watching, especially with the awp. If not, there have been a couple of big time hackers lately......I don't know for sure either way so I don't say anything and before I start wasting peoples times with sb_status submissions, I would like to know a little more.

well first and formost a speed hack is obvious... the shoot faster, reload faster, and when they have their knife out they look like they are teleporting. from what i know (and i may be wrong) since everything is going through the internet what you are probably seeing isnt at all accurate. with the given lag time of their computer to the server and the server to you things like pinpoint aim and such can be off. i wouldnt accuse them of hacking right off but it does take a good eye to spot hackers. ive have plenty of experience but we all make mistakes.

There are a lot of suspicious people around [&:]

Some hackers are good actors and throw frags and flashes where a normal player would, even though since their hacking they know no one is there. Even then they may not be hacking - maybehe isjust covering up the fact their brother is on another computer telling him where the other players are.

Just because there sites don't line up does not mean they are hacking. It is just as you said, it has to do with the ping and framerates. We see slightly different things when spectating someone then they do. This effect gets amplified with the awp. It's annoying, I know. You more have to pay attention to the times when their sites do line up. What I mean is that aimbots will cause the player to focus in on a target too quickly and perfectly to be legit. Hacks, although a manipulation of the game, still use the game as their basis, and as such must still adhere to certain aspects of its programming. One of these being that the crosshairs must be on a target for the target to be hit. The only way around this would be if they infected their opponents computer or the server itself with a symbiotic hack that may allow this to happen. However, I am not aware of any hacks like this off hand.

well, most of the cursors ofhackers i have caught have all been a little shaky no matter how big or little. and when they arent aiming at people at all and still hit the target, i usually compare that shot to the other shots he has fired on other people. not very accurate i suppose but works for me [&:]

If you connect to a server using 2 computers, and use one to spec yourself, you will notice a delay between when you move and the other computer sees you. This delay will be equal to your ping. If you move your mouse a couple inches left and shoot (Commonly seen in awp map)...if done fast enough that will look like you locked onto the players head the second you shoot.

I think

I have been doing pretty good lately and I have heard people start to suggest the "H" word with me....what a compliment...so I guess it's not just me that sees the difference in framerate crosshair aiming....*feels much better*

Tubby and I have LANed a couple of times, but my laptop doesn't have the video power to really play (it's a Dell C600 with 8MB onboard video). We'd go on opposite teams and try to peek at each other's screens without getitng caught
