Could Sp benefit from an IM service?
I was just using facebook, and it has a neat little IM service thing, to chat with friends, see whos online, etc. etc.
So was thinking, could SP benefit with a similar function? chat possibly to all members of SP, or only those that are listed as your friends. just thinking this could be useful for those that want to ask questions, and get an answers instantly rather than waiting for a reply. Just a thought!

lol well they had IRC but didn't get off the ground as very few people used it. But now i dont think we need to make it anymore like myspace, facebook etc... i mean now we even have our own page, we can edit the page. we can leave visitor msgs. very myspace like lol.. We have friends as well. If they added top 10 friends or something i would call sp myspace lol. I don't see a need for IM, i wont lie it would pretty cool, as long as they make a iphone app for it
 as i like to chat on aim when im bored in class. And i just re read your post... lol but yea it would also be helpful. When IRC was still up there would be people dropping by asking for a admin. But it was very rare...

well u could always use the sp vent channel most admins are on and some regulars form sp are always on. just page and talk to the using your mic.

The spawnpoint group on Steam friends can be used to find SP members, chat, and whatnot
 And yeah, a good few Spawnpoint members and staff use it daily EDIT: Just saw the date on this thread...oh well it was second on the list...not much of a bump anyways

personally i think that would be a great idea that way you arent constantly looking for the right place to post and taking the extra time. plus not everyone on here uses steam. i dont. i just play combat arms. so i think it could work out very well. good idea edge.

I agree with a combination of Uber Bear and Mr.Me. SP's already got the vent channel and steam group, and active forums, I wouldn't see it as necessary or very beneficial.
