Ping/Latency problems

I've been getting banned/kicked from servers because I guess my ping/ Latency was to high. My question is, how do I make it lower so I don't keep getting kicked out or banned half way through the game? I've notice it's only been happening to me on Gun Game servers, but the thing I don't get is I've seen others way higher then mine and never got kicked.

Your Internet connection speed, running processes, distance from server etc all have an effect on your latency / ping ....and should be taken into consideration when choosing a server to play.

If you have a good connection but are a few thousand miles from the server, try closing some applications that are running in the background to 'free up' some of your system resources.

Downloading from the internet will also cause high ping / latency so lay off the porn ;-)

Failing that try a closer server to 'home'

I always have three messengers running, avant browser with four websites getting refreshed every five minutes. Then CounterStrike. I have Comcast for my internet connection. Would upgrading from a 512 memory card to a 1g memory card help out? Also how do I find closer to home servers?

Mate you need to close some of your applications when playing CSS. As for distances i play regularly on 108.4 which is about 4500 miles from here with NO lag.

As for closer servers click on the "servers" icon at the top if the page. It will show you locations of most server areas. Pick the one closest

your video card won't help with you ping. the only way to lower your ping/latency is to close out of several of the things you have running. the mulitple auto refreshing websites will ruin your ping.
