Quake sounds

Have the Quake sounds been removed from SP servers intentionally, or is this some kind of an error? I have to say that I've always enjoyed some enthusiastic guy screaming "HEADSHOT" and "DOMINATING". It's just not as fun without it...

I do remember Starlog trying to put in these provacative Quake sounds with a female voice inside the servers. I see them trying to load "First Blood," for example. Perhaps he is still working on them? I personally dont like Quake sounds, unless its a dm server.

I for one think the quake sounds can be quite cool, however, sometimes, i really dont feel like hearing headshot, monsterkill, GODLIKE all the time, it's annoying when you try to play for real, and you are sneaking around... Thank god they can be turned off... but cool is, when you go into another server and you type in quake only you will be able to hear the sounds... lol

Or could it be that the quake sounds occasionally shout out "holy s***"? It's just with the swear filters maybe it was decided that having a mod that swore would be a bit inconsistant. No idea if that is the case, but it would make sense.

I really hate the Quake sounds. It's the first thing i do when i join any new server is switch them off.

They're veryannoying and it's difficult to listen for footsteps and opening / closing doors with "Rampage!" and "Headshot!" and "dominating!" being screamed in your ears LOL

quake sounds work on the fy_only server

the rest of the servers seem to have the quake sounds "broken". hopefully they will be repaired...alot of players like to hear this stuff, as it seems to 'fluff their ego' abit
