Record in game play for Demo's

How do i record demo's when i am playing CSS?

I nkow how to do a screenshot, but i do not know how to record live futage while i am playing in game on counter strike.

Would i have to download some type of program or something? Or is there a way i can do this throguh css? Please let me know

Alright cool. Could you tell me where in the "cstrike" folder this "record demo" is found? I was told that there is a "demo" folder, however, i do not have a demo folder. Please let me know where this file or folder is.

As well, is there any way i can watch this demo i have recorded by clicking on it? Do i have to open up CSS or anything like that?

Your cstrike folder is found here and the demos are in here also.
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\yourname\counter-strike source\cstrike

You have to open CS and type playdemo then the name of the demo.

you need to be spectator when u record ur demo.

If you want to record a demo of your own play you can just type into the console "record and a demo name to keep track of your demos". If you want to demo someone else, a good player or a suspected hacker, you must be in spectator mode (type "spectate" in console) and then find the player you want to spectate then type "record demo name" into console. (Also type "status" to get Steam IDs if you want to report a hacker.) When you're done recording type "stop" in console. When you want to watch your demo make sure you disconnect from the server. While still in CSS you can enter "playdemo demo name" into the console or, what I find easier, press the Shift and then F2 keys which will bring up the demo playback tool (which you can use to access all of your saved .dem files; change the playback speed of the demo; and access edit features - which I haven't and don't know how to use).

Vanilla, if you want, message me and I'll run you through the steps in game. Once you do it it's really easy. We can go to an empty zm server...say around 3ish if you're awailable. I should be home by then.

steps to recording a good demo..
1. go in to spectate
2. go into first person view of the person you want to take a demo of
3. type record (name)
4. type status
5. when you are done type stop
this is what you need to do if you want to send in a demo of a hackor/abbuser also please note if you are trying to get a innaproriate spray a demo will NOT capture it you need to take a screen shot.

I just reported a hacker today . It wasnt that easy to find it but i got help and figured it out
