hacker demos

k don't know where this thread should go but...will i get in trouble if i send in a demo of a hacker that i've already sent in before? like if i'm not sure if i sent it in yet. i have like 20-30 demos, i deleted all the ones that i got replies from the staff, but some still seem familiar. i don't know what to do =\ sorry for not sending them in right away lol. i'll try to do that again.

nope, just send it in. all that will happen is you get a second response about the person.

if the player is determined to be hacking, he will probably be in the global ban list anyway, if this is a second submission and it should be caught then anyway.

thanks freakmagnet. well i sent in about half, around 10. i got bored from reviewing the demos and making sure they were hacking and seeing what hacks they were using. i also had to trash around 7 of them because the hacker left before i got enough evidence. have fun with those demos i sent in

While on the subject, can I ask what the expected return time is? I ask because some of the other admins have been busy and I've had hackers city in 174.5. 3 mygots, a waller, a speedhacker and an aimbotter[&:]. I know you guys are busy but this is over about 2 weeks and haven't received any response. I know that I got enough footage for all these guys so I hope it doesn't look like I'm demoing every other suspiscious player...

The thing is, by the time you guys get through the emails the server has been reset and they're free to come back.

they are added to the ban list on steambans, so they won't be able to go back as long as their steam id is on steambans' list and steambans is properly working on the server.

Lol, that's not a lot, I've got about 30 demos I've sent in that I'm waiting to hear back on, plus another three that I've not got round to sending in yet. That's not because i send in any old demos, I've got a 100% record with other demos I've sent in and I expect that all the outstanding demos will also result in bans. I'm also admin on 8 servers so 8 times more hackers.

It used to be very annoying when the ban list would be overwritten so that players you had banned could get back on again, I must have banned some players over 10 times. To help keep track of who was banned I would write down their name, steam id and the name of the demos, that way if i was suspicious of someone I could check against the list to see if they had been banned before.This can also help keep track of which demos you've sent in.

I think we should have a league table of who's got the most hackers banned, a bit like that Special Thanks thread but with numbers and maybe prizes (Spawnpoint bumper stickers perhaps).

we dont get many hackers in 108.4 dont know why, but ppl just usually dont hack in that server. we also dont get many myg0t's either. we just get a bunch of noobs that complain about ppl they think are hacking, but have like a 1.6 kdr lol

Yeah now you've got some competition (confirmed bans only), you might have a head start but i will be catching you up.

Coop, I reckon hacking on assault is harder than any other map, I've watched players with aimbot play on assault and they get owned by anybody who knows what they are doing. It's so funny. Though there was one (aimbot, wall, speedhack) that had a kdr of 107, currently having fun with steambans.
