What is the size of the GIF file you use? The maximum size of your custom image is 150 by 150 pixels or 39.7 KB (whichever is smaller).
GIF files is often abit bigger I think.

.
103kb is to big mate, try WinZIP, and use that. Im not sure if you can shrink a GIF file, but its worth a shot.

Zodiac pal, animated gifs do work. I've changed mine so you can see. An animated gif is just a series of images that show 1 after another, just like in a film.
As Tonka has said yours is to big in file size. Unfortunately Tonka's option by zipping it won't work as then you will have a zip extension which is not a viable graphics image.
A good rule of thumb is to take each image file size and times it by the number of frames. so say for instance your first image is 10kb and you have 5 frames in your gif, you'll end up with an image of +- 50kb - (this depends on the size of the image eg. 150x150 pixels) (there are allot more factors that effect file size but I wont get into that)
Your going to have resize your image or take out some of the frames by using a gif animator program. There are loads of free versions out there so fire up the old google and see what you can find. :thumbup1:

quick question. What is a good 'animation program'? I've tryed imageReady And it didn't give me the the results i wanted.

I think you mean ImageReady. i don't like it, Photoshop itself is freakin' fantastic. Just imageready doesn't do it for me.

ImageReady or Photoshop cs3+ :)
ImageReady is pretty good i though... i love it to get all the frames of an orginal gif to change little things
Photoshop cs3 and up allows animations. but... you cant get the frames from the gif.
and as you can see my avatar is animated as well :P about 64 frames but its only 8bit color.. ;-) and if you save frames in small formats. i usually do png without that option it asks (i forget what it is)

Jordan, I know you are relatively new so I will answer your question. Next time start your own thread. By posting in Zodiac's thread like this, you have done what we call "Hijacking" a thread. We like to keep each thread about its own topic so that the question can be answered as well as possible.
Your name you choose initially is not the end of the world. I have had several since before even Steam came out in the old days right after beta in 1.0. Think of something you like or something you think is cool. I choose mine to get the attention of a clan leader.....it worked.....also because I just got through watching the "X" games lol. The name you choose doesn't define you. Your attitude and game play does. I have seen some guys with some stupid silly names that are very cool. I have also seen some guys with cool names that are jerks.
