My dad deals with alot of that stuff as he works for BT. He said that there was bad weather near Egypt or something and that a fishing boat or trawler anchored near the cable. Because there was very high winds the Anchor dragged along the sea bed and got caught on the cables damaging 100,000+ pounds worth which they had to pay for.
