But you forget to mention that they must type sb_status in the console right after they start recoring the hacker [:'(]

normally I would completely agree with what was said about how to get a hacker banned...the only problem is that SteamBans isn't accepting new demos right now because Valve Managed to screw something up with how Steam IDs are allocated, and as a result SteamBans isn't accepting new demos until Valve fixes the problem. We PHXX admins, however, are always accepting demos. If you see someone hacking start recording and be sure to type status in the console so we can see their ID there. The best demos are ones that clearly show what the person is doing (aimbot, walls, spinning hack, speed hack, etc). Once Valve fixes it's issues (ok, make that once Valve fixes THIS issue) Steambans will start accepting demos again and you will need to type sb_status in console at the start of any demo you want to submit to them.

Exactly. The issue with valve reporting the incorrect steam id is very rare. In fact, during the last 2 months I have only seen it twice. If the problem ever arises that someone elses steam id waswrongly added to the ban list due to this issue. It will be investigated. However, we have not had a single complaint yet from a globally banned player. Partly due to the fact that they know they are hackers, secondly, only demo's that are 100% positively id'd as a hack are added. Many of you have already submitted demo's to hacker@phxx.net and this is muchly appreciated. Some of you have recieved emails back saying the demo was not conclusive enough to globally ban a player. We will continue our efforts to keep the servers cheat-free and welcome your continued contributions.
