Banned GunGame Server.

Alright so I was banned from the GunGame CSS server for "camping" by one KillJoy. His idea of camping was staying still for any amount of time ANYWHERE. I was standing on a box where everyone could see me clearly from 3/4 directions and I get slayed, get slayed for going up in to a little hide out and finally kicked and banned while half way up a ladder and typing!

The explanation I got was "no camping unless you have a scout" that is ridiculous. First off its no where in the MOTD, and second its probably the worst way to police something like this. I've also never had this problem any other time on this server with an admin saying someone can and or cant go somewhere, which the maker of the map obviously intended someone to be able to go.

Now I know the argument against me is going to be respect what an admin says, but how can I respect something where it would seem they are making up rules for individual maps on individual preference. Is it fair to every player every time they come in that they will have to play to a different set of rules for different admins?

I'll suggest a couple of solutions so this problem doesn't occur in the future.

1. Add in the MOTD that going on to certain areas is not allowed without a scout. (Which I still find absolutely ridiculous)

2. Take out these maps where certain admins have a "problem" with people not moving or hanging out in certain places.


Now maybe the second suggestion would take away some popular maps from the server, but I would rather see that then admins who have to have everyone play the game they see fit.

So hopefully the fact that I took the time to sign up and make a thread shows that I find this ban irrational, no matter if it turns out to only be a hour or a day or a week, and hopefully its lifted soon cause other then this incident I have never had a problem on the server.

Well checking the demos I haven't seen one turned in regarding this incident. Hopefully Killjoy will be along to explain his side and send in any demo. I haven't played on the GG server in awhile however I believe the message is displayed periodically in green text that you shouldn't be camping unless you have a scout.

The most you should have been banned for is 24 hours, less then that if it wasn't a serious incident. Type status in console while in a game to grab your steam id. If there isn't any response from Killjoy by tomorrow you'll be unbanned if you haven't been already.

I just really think there should be a better way of dealing with it then having to kick/ban someone if they stop moving... especially if its on something stupid like a ladder...

Thank you for coming to the forums to dispute this in a mature manner. Although that's not the way you presented it in the server.

Firstly I do not have a demo as when I hit my demo bind that ended another one that I was already recording from a previous racist name. (It was a long night in GG:Turbo)

When we first noticed, We as in me and the other admins in the server, you camping in the towers every other round, I took action.

Yes Ichigo, As it states in green every few minutes that there is no camping without a sniper(You should know this Bing, seeing as you play here, Or so you say)

I warned you with normal admin chat and used explode feature to let you know the rule. You tried to argue with me about the rule, then you continuted to do so even after I slayed you twice. That's when I kicked you, Finally you came back and started going strait up to the same place. I'm sorry if you were typing, Maybe you should have not moved your mouse while on the ladder for that long period of time, or better yet gone into spectate and tried to talk to me about it instead.

I rarely ban an obsesive camper for more than 30 minutes. If not you will be able to rejoin in less than 24 hours.


Hope this is all cleared up. I hope you can agree with the server rules next time and play like the rest of us and have fun.

Hello Bing and thank you for bringing this to the forums. I am Tullsy, I was the other admin present at the time.

Your ban was completely fair and you most certainly deserved it. You blatantly disregarded an admin (Or rather admins) and continued to disobey the rules that we constantly spammed in the light blue admin chat messages. Even if you didn't see those we said it over the mic numerous times and even slayed/ slapped other players who were also camping; The difference between you and them is that they followed our directions and discontinued to camp.

Your ban could not have been for more then 24 hours but we barely ban for over 30 minutes for campers. As for your suggestions, Spawnpoint will not take off certain maps just because people have problems following the server rules; and also, if you look on the side, in the chat box, every so often you will see the message "There is no camping without a sniper rifle". It's servers rules, it is not our own made up rule.

Thank you for your kind appeal, I will look forward to playing with you next time I'm on the server, lets just hope that this issue will not come up again.

The server rules have been thought out thoroughly and laid down by the staff at Spawnpoint.com.

The GunGame "no camping" rule IS as the guys state announced on server messages at regular intervals.

Our admins are on server to uphold Spawnpoint.coms rules and that means no camping without a scout. Whether you like the rule or not is not the issue here.

You were requested to cease by server admins, you didn't and were disciplined.

Your ban is short and temporary. Feel free to come back any time just make sure you obey the requests of all admins and the rules laid down by spawnpoint in the MOTD and on the server pop ups.

Should you find it "difficult" to follow our rules then no doubt, this issue will come up again.

Thanks for the cool and calm manner in which you all handles this incident.
