While I was playing on one of the ams servers and i had a name of "chezy sucks dick" or something like that from the day before and as soon as I saw it was still that name I joined spec and put my name back to normal hoping knowone would see but that didnt work. I know that rules are rules and it was a game that me and chezy have been playing, and I was banned for my name and I think it was permanent. I've been playing on these ams one from the begining of my cs:s gaming time (since PHXX) I ask for a un ban and I apoligize for this problem I have acured. Please get back to me on this one and thank you.

Well, a name ban like that should't have been a ban at all without a warning first...

And a ban of that nature should only be a temp ban of at most a couple days.

Do you know who was admin at the server at the time of the ban? And who's Chezy?

chezy is one of my admins on server 69.90.208.8

rage was, at one time, a spawnpoint.com admin and had his rights revoked by starlog for continually using poor judgement. i showed equally poor judgement when i granted him rights on a couple of my servers several months back (although in my defense he had changed his name and spent a few months convincing us he was new to the servers). he showed equally bad judgement that go around as well - he likes to control situations too much, strangles the fun out of them.

as for banning him, i didn't even know it was him when he came into the server, if i did i might not have banned him. now that i know it's him i'm not going to revoke it unless one of the big boys thinks i've been too rash. he, of all people, is not above the rules.

i believe it to be disrespectful to the admin (who wasnt happy when he saw that name come into the server, making it an inflammatory remark as well) and sexually explicit - this happened at around 5ish fyi.

in summation, if one of the upperlords has an issue with this i will revoke the ban. if not i would prefer that it stands.

Your quite right in what you did mate. The server rules from on high, which you quoted, are fairly set in stone.

Yes you were quite right to ban the player for using that name. You have made your decision and want it to stick as you have requested.

Admins are chosen to police the servers. I don't see anything incorrect in what you have done.

Though I'm one of the 'big boys', and don't entirely agree with the ban I will leave it to you soma.
Has Chezy commented on this at all? If you guys do mess around like that with names, have him come here and say say so on the forums.

This statement was more aimed atnames containing racism and/or F-bombs ("bad enough"). I personally would warn or kickfor a "mr me sucks d1ck", and change the name for them myself. If they change it back they get a few more warnings, then a temp ban.

I'm not an admin or anyone important but for the record, I also disagreed with a perm ban but my post was deleted by an admin...anyway, it should have been a kick or temporary ban without any kind of warning.
