Serious question

k, so I was at eckerds PX the other day and wanted to buy some skin to use with my gfriend. there were like 14 types! 'ribbed', 'thin for pleasure', 'extra-sized', 'spermicidal', 'lubricated', etc

do I need to worry about this stuff? can i get anything? will she really notice if I get ribbed?

funk - this is one instant when size DOES matter! Be honest with your self when choosing which size to purchase. Also, spermicide is important; it gives you just a little added insurance that the "skin", as you so aptly put it, will do the job it is meant for. Lubrication can be useful, especially if you are both young, nervous, etc. Any of the other "options" I would not worry too much about. Just keep in mind that you are looking for a product to perform a specific task, which is to prevent pregnancy and/or transfer of disease.

I personally hate the things, but if you are not at a point in your life where you are ready to care for the life you may create, they do the job.

But seriously, some of them are thicker, some are thinner, just depends on if you are the kinda guy who will lose your stuff from barely touching the "box" (way too sensitive) or if you need as much feel as possible when in the "box" (not too sensitive). Those 2 factors will dictate which kind of "skin" would work best for you.

Oh man... cant remember when i used a "skin" for the last time...!!?? omg.. cant even remember THE last time lmao... oh no, i remember *sweeeeeeeeeeet*

Oops sorry i was drifting off :P anyway, yeah it's good for youngsters to use those.. and when you get older, more secure, and you find you soul mate, your life partner, then you get into the position where you could do it without skin... but just find out for yourself, and do not be scared to ask for a skin... it's nothing to be embraced about.. i did it too, as i think, goes for most older admins in here :P

Personnaly I dont use ribbed, a friend of mine does and he told me he had some problem with it. After a while it started to "burn" her girlfriend. Not fire burn but you know, irritating burn, unpleasant sensation so if you wanna try 'em out, I suggest buying only one or 2 (they are available in individual packages over here).
So you might wanna try a couple and see which fits you best.

There are a lot of types of condom and to find the best one for you, you'll just have to try some out. Avoid novelty condoms and really cheap ones.

Size. Very important to get ones that fit you well.

Thickness. You shouldn't need a extra thick one (your gf may think you don't trust her). I found the thinner ones (featherlite or whatever they call them) better sensation wise but they were sometimes difficult to get on. Nothing kills passion like getting angry at a condom.

Spermicide. Up to you, less chance of preggers gf.

Colour/flavour/ribbed. Never found any of those to be any use. Fine have a coloured condom, but they make your penis look even more silly than usual.

After trying out a few different types I found my brand, Mates, I can't remember the name of them but they were a "loose fit", great sensation wise and importantly never broke.
