The war in iraq; I personally think this war is hopless unless Bush does somthing to chang how were doing this. For an example the marines can not shoot at the enemy unless they were shot at. They can have a gun to there head and still they can't shoot back. And if they will be in trouble with the law. Anerica was once a great country now its losing that. What do you think of the war?

The rules of engagement presently in place are there for a reason. To you or I, they seem dumb, but you forget, we aren't at war anymore.
We are a tertiary policing force for a country rebuilding itself. This rebuilding will fail, I guarantee (unless they break the country up in to three seperate countries). Regardless of this action and it's precedented war, America is still the greatest country on the planet. A failed war won't take that away from us. |

I highly doubt if the rules of engagement states don't shoot until shot at. Certainly if in an urban environment, clear identification of hostiles would be highly desirable to minimize civilian casualties.
Have you seen the videos of insurgents burying road side bombs? The U.S. military didn't wait for them to explode the IEDs before the Hellfire missile landed in their lap. Personally, I think the Marines would shoot first and ask questions later. OPREP |

I am a veteran of this war so I have strong feelings about it. I think we are fighting hard over the and doing our jobs. I just think that Bush could try to fuel there economy with more educational programs that teach virtues and maybe some Christian organizations should go over and prevent new cells of terrorism from spreading in children. Bush is doing a very nice job and democrats want to take all his credit and say stuff that just aint true.

War in Iraq has been over for 5 years. I find it funny that no one pays attention.. or perhaps isn't taught.. what happened in Germany and Japan (and Russia) after WWII. Insurgents, terrorism.. the Red Brigade.. many others, for - DECADES - after the war ended.
We have more men in Germany today then we have in Iraq. We have FAR less men in Germany today then we did for the 20 years after WWII. If we left Germany... what would Europe look like now? |
