Interesting vid I saw today:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPILhiTJv7E

Basically China has been building cities and lots of housing, which given their massive population may not seem that odd. However, it seems hardly anyone can afford to live in a lot of these new cities so they are mostly empty. China may have the worlds biggest mall, but it only seems to have one shop and the owner of that seems bored.

This is only one part of China's economy but if this kind of thing is typical of their whole economy they have one hell of a fall waiting for them.

I think in due time people will move into 'em, so i don't it's a "waste" of money per-sey, But more on "looking toward the future".

Reminds me of that abandoned hotel in North Korea. Only difference being a non existent economy vs. a "flourishing" economy. Funny how NY Times never did a major follow up story on their "proof" of economic growth. I don't think they will become occupied, the prices are outrageous for the class that will be having their existing homes demolished. The fact that the sales persons so obviously avoid questions is frightening and makes it look as though China is digging it's own grave. Look at the bright side, there's finally clean air in those cities
