The vid was funny considering the amount of hype he had pre-election and during the transfer of power. The jibjab commercial at the end almost qualifies for spam...:blink:

In 1981 President Regan and his administration came up with something called Trickle Down Economics. The idea being that with deregulation of big industry and Wall Street along with tax breaks for the rich, enough wealth would trickle down to keep the middle class happy and healthy. Not to mention that In the last 8 years we've witnessed the greatest transfer of wealth in human history from the poor and middle class to the coffers of the top 2%. 29 years later, all that has trickled down is lies, deceit, and hypocrisy.
The video I suspect is funny to those who're still living at home with mom and dad, or those who feel secure having a good job with all the necessary health benefits. On the other hand, I suspect it is not so funny to the 17,000 people today who lost their health insurance, to those who thought they had good health insurance only discover when they got sick they don't, or the hundreds of thousands who for the first time in their lives can't find a decent job, or to those who're about to lose their homes. I could go on...
Yes, I imagine some get a big kick out of bringing down Obama, especially after all the media hype associated with his election. Thing is all that hype wasn't necessarily about "Obama" it was about hope. For something new, something better, hope for something that could bring balance and equity to all people. It's not about "Obama" the man, it's about a leader who gave hope to a disappointed and desperate people looking for someone, who after three decades of nothing being done, would step up to the plate and at least try to bring balance to our social and economic systems. I don't agree with all that he has proposed, but at least we have someone at the helm and rocking the boat.
"Super Obama Girl" oldie but goody. Jib-Jab has always been good for a laugh, but forgive me, I personally find little humor in politics these daze. Too many people in too much pain, not enough compassion.
There is a storm coming...

Zombie just give it up, Atrus has been around a lot longer then me or you (most people on here) so I think he know's what he's talking about. And the whole "I'm against Obama" thing was just stupid to say in the first place. As for the "please drop it" your the one that should stop posting replies so it can in fact "be dropped." I thought the video was more or less stupid because of the current situation we (America) are in now. So yes "please drop it" so this won't turn into a big flame fest...

In case you missed it -- this is a political forum. If you're looking to impress folks with what you think is funny perhaps you should have posted in the "Frivolity and Humor and Videos" forum. But, you posted here and I would suggest that if you can't stand the heat -- stay out of the kitchen.

This is the real politic forum. Zombie, if you are going to post in this section, you have to be aware that other people are probably going to disagree with you and post back. They are welcome to post their opinions as Atrus has done. The USA is as divided now as it has ever been so making fun of the head of a party is going to draw some comments. This is not the humor section so telling people to leave it alone because it is humor is not a legitimate course of action and carries no weight. This is why you got the reactions you did. If you had posted this in the "Frivolity and Humor and Videos" section, you could rightly argue that. You still have to accept that politically charged things posted will result in comments...especially in this forum section.
Atrus might have made an error in assuming "confederate flag". He probably made that assumption thinking you were older than you are. Your age explains a lot. His other comments are well within the parameters of what you can expect in this forum.
With this said, I am going to leave this open for comments on the videos posted. (mine included) Instead of going after people, debate maturely why you guys think believe the way you do. While the video(s) are funny, it does give a great picture of the hope/let down that the USA has been experiencing. Debate about that. Lots of Americans still have hope while others feel let down. This is what I would consider a mature debating comment...
