Really a company could only control the internet when they control ACCESS to the internet, such as through the Comcast cable lines I use. If I didn't want Comcast to control my internets, then I guess I could lay my own fibers down, or launch a satelitte for my own internet.

If you wanted to "lay down your own lines", you would need to have everyone lay them down. Otherwise no network, no internet.

No, if I wanted the internets to be a network I would actually need to lay down many different tubes, becuase they handle cloggage much more effectively.

I think you are missing the point. They way they are talking, we are going to loose the internet as we know it. Some descussion has come about where they will make it so logging on the internet is like turning your TV on. They give you certain websites you can goto and that's it. No freedom of speech, no blogs, no forums, nothing, just what they want you to goto.
