Default Palin to make a difference?

So what did everyone think of Rep VP Candidate Palin's speech last night????

I was VERY impressed! I think the Democrats need to start worrying a wee bit more than they already are! I loved some of the headlines today...She was so energetic! I don't agree on all her views (abortion being one of them), but as a whole I think she is a great choice!

In my opinion, I honestly felt she was boring. She didn't show much enthusiasm and so it seemed like she was lecturing rather than sending powerful messages.

I agree, I listened and watched her for about 5 minutes ( longuest 5 mins in my life ). And honestly, McCain is so desperate he doesn't know what to do to get more people to vote for him, watch him phail against Obama.

The speech was real bad in my opinion. She was bitching at Obama for not having specifics in his speeches, and yet anyone who can read can go on to his web site and look at everything has to say. She didn't bring an ounce of specific to her speech either. Does that mean she doesn't have viewpoints? Obviously not, but it's quite hypocritical.

McCain says that the VP must be ready for presidency the day s/he steps into office as VP. Experience, experience, experience. She lacks it. I don't want to hear the "OBAMA DOEZ 2." That's not what I'm saying whatsoever, so don't put words into my mouth. McCain's "double talk" express is going to catch up to him.

I highly doubt woman are going to vote based on gender. There are more registered female voters than there are male, and Clinton didn't win. Woman aren't stupid. I'm not a woman, but I'd feel pretty insulted if I was one of these "disgruntled Clinton supporters" (even though finding these women is nearly impossible, where do they exist?).

Overall, bad pick. I believe McCain should have picked someone from a swing state rather than a lock for 3 electoral votes. This woman is under state investigation for corruption, her unwed underage daughter is pregnant, she has a child with down syndrome, etc. Her claiming family values are important is a complete load of BS. Anyone who has a underage daughters child knows it's an extreme strain, never mind having another with down syndrome. I don't see how one could handle any of those tasks competently ever really, never mind serving as VICE PRESIDENT of the most powerful country in the world. It's pretty evident that Palin was selected based on her gender alone, which with a lot of people won't set too well.

Really unbelievable. Usually when someone says something like this they back it up with some strong backbone evidence. Playing the "0m6 h3 h4t3z 4m3rc4" card isn't flying like it used to anymore. People are catching onto this right wing BS. "A verb, a noun, 9/11" is another thing people caught onto pretty quickly. People aren't dumb. Whether you're just spreading the BS, or actually believe it, I'm sorry for you.

I agree with Zol, what evidence do you have to support the fact that Obama is not an American supporter? Frankly I think your a bit racist and can't accept the fact that someone of a different background can lead America. I'm just in total shock right now...

" her unwed underage daughter is pregnant, she has a child with down syndrome, etc. " and that means?????

I mean the fact that she kept her baby who was diagnosed with DS early in pregnancy is HER personal choice. I actually commend her for that...I don't know if I would have made the same decision but at least we all have a CHOICE.

OK so her 17 year old daughter got pregnant....let's see....they will keep and raise the baby. Not an easy task I assume. Is that any worse than some of the "Scandals" going on now by some leading politicians??? You see, things will happen....it's how you chose to deal with them that really shows who you are.

There are so many single moms out there making a life for themselves. She will have her family's full support. That to me shows character...the unwed teenage pregnant daughter is not thrown out, not banished....she is loved and has her family's full support.

As far as the "corruption" thing...let's see what happens....in due time it will all come out, one way or another. If someone is charged (and I don't mean "accused" at this point) with corruption, then I agree with you, they should not hold office...any office. Let's wait until all the facts are out.

No one said it will be an easy job. I can't imagine that just because she is a woman, a mother...of an unwed pregnant daughter, and a mother of a DS baby should hinder her abilities.

Women = Men Remember that one....and we have had the ability to vote, work in any capacity that we wish, as long as we are capapble...we have many rights nowadays ...perhaps even as many rights as med do!

Let's wake up peeps and smell the coffee! Let's not shut someone down simply because we think that they may have too much on their plate....being a mom of a DS baby lol...I respect her for that. Let's look at the REAL issues.

I agree with you on she is a good mom, responsible, etc. So you're gonna vote for her/ McCain because of that ? I mean, we all know that women are men equals but, cmon... if you only vote for her for the way she deal with her personnal life, than McCain made the right move; to choose Palin as his VP, to get the vote of undecided people ( mostly female ) .

I'm a die-hard Republican...doesn't mean I'm voting either way yet....I do like McCain for obvious reasons, but his choice of VP puzzled me at first because I didn't know that much about her. I kept an open mind though. After viewing her and learning more about her...Idk...it just made a good impression on me. It's NOT because she's a woman and/or a mom with challenging situations facing her. Hillary is a woman too and I couldn't stand her! ....I guess I liked what I saw in Palin.

If I closely look at the most important choices: McCain or Obama -------> It's McCain all the way for me, no hesitations, no second guesses. It's just that I'm happy in the selection that he made for his running mate. I feel that Palin's addition is rather a smart choice. I think she basically reached out and touched many people. I think she makes up for what McCain lacks....She is very personable, she is a very strong woman. She is a very smart and capable woman. I understand that there may be things that we don't know about or see....but that's what we have to find out/look for answers before the election.

I know family is in Obama's words "off-limits" but come on now a connection has to be made.

If Palin didn't educate her daughter about safe sex or not having sex for that matter how well do you think she will do co-leading a country of millions? She can't even look after one of her own...

She is also against gay marriage and supports a federal gay marriage ban, by voting for this ( even if ou ignore this ) you are agreeing with her, you were talking about how men and women are equal, looks like you think gay people shouldn't have the same freedom..

Who are you talking about, Matt? Obama has always been a part of this country, he has always respected the American way AND the American flag. If he is elected, he will not only be put into the record books, he will also open up many new chapters in American History books.

As for Palin, I don't think that was a good choice on McCain's part.

*Sigh* I respect your opinion on him all the way however I would much rather we didn't have a "Bush 2.0" in the oval office again.
