Bad Idea because our military has developed to a high tech field, which one randomly drafted person, wouldn't understand well..

Even more if they weren't the "smartest" of people.

A draft would definitely open up all new avenues of debate about the current conflict....especially if one of the "Bushies" got drafted. I sincerely believe that alot of those "higher ups" think that "harm's way" is fine as long as they don't share genetic code with a person going in "harm's way".

Most nations.. for most of history used the draft. War seemed to keep going on, so why do you think a draft wont work?

I am against the draft in general, but not for reasons like "its wrong". I much rather have highly motivated people join for whatever reason that motivates them then to be forced into it. This leads to a better, more educated, more hungry force!

I agree with weaver... you should volunteer in a way. not volunteering unto itself but inbetween a dragt and volunteering. Like when a war is brought onto my doorstep i will most likely volunteer. War in iraq hell no. but Pearl harbor 2, gimme da gear.

Again like weaver said you dont want people that arent motivated to be in the army you will just be racking up death counts. You want someone that wants to be in it.
